    This is the story of a 16 year old boy from Belgium, who was faced with the choice of boxing for survival. The story makes a curious turn at the boxing ring, where he meets Victor "Young" Perez, a Tunisian born Frenchman, and the first ever Jewish World Flyweight Champion, who had become a legend during his time. The story becomes more amazing when it becomes apparent that the entire story takes place at the Auschwitz Death Camp.

    B’nai Shalom’s resident music duo Don Batchelder and Seth Saltzman will join with musical friends in a concert that puts the lyrical side of Broadway side by side with Jewish-themed opera melodies. The program will include music by Gershwin, Bernstein, Jerome Kern, Cy Coleman, and composers from the world of opera. This concert is a tribute to Len Fisher, our beloved opera-loving past president. A free-will offering will benefit the Len Fisher Tekiah G’dolah Fund, which supports arts and music at B’nai Shalom. Suggested donation to the Len Fisher Tekiah G’dolah Fund: $36 per person
